Escaping into Nocturnal Spaces

“Grief is the price we pay for love and worth it a million times over.”
A Boy Called Christmas

Hello! I’m currently enjoying an adventurous movie directed by Gil Kenan featuring a retelling of the origin story of Nikolas before he becomes Santa Clause. It’s a charming, action-packed Nordic, Christmas story that resonates to my inner child as I take in all of the beautiful frozen surroundings. I was surprised to learn that the movie was based on a book by Matt Haig! This past year I read another book by him called “The Midnight Library” where the protagonist lives multiple lives.

Beethoven’s Nocturnes

I also learned that it is Beethoven’s birthday today, December 17! I have fond memories of playing Beethoven’s sonatas, sonatinas, and other nocturnes on the piano.

I’m curious about this German movie on Beethoven’s life!
