Lol, You’re my encyclopedia for flowers😆

Hmmm…. after reading Cee’s comment i am inclined to agree! Hemerocallis are a member of the lily family, Amaryllis are a different family altogether and are called lillies – but they ain’t!

They sure look like them though! 😉

    1. theresaly520 says:

Yes, I was thinking about calling them red lilies, but that would be presumptuous of me🙄.

      1. Lwbut says:

Many botanists appear to have been presumptuous it would seem!!! 😉

There are VERY fine lines distinguishing plant types… and they frequently can change!? 🙂

      2. theresaly520 says:

So if a plant mutated due to certain environmental factors, I’m guessing that would make it more difficult to identify.

      3. Lwbut says:

Exactly! – it might even become an entirely new species that needs it’s own taxonomy?
I have poppies i cannot easily fit with the known examples i can find on Google? Maybe the professionals can, but i can’t. 🙂

Definitely! I went when there was this amazing Chihuily exhibit. Glass blown sculptures were all over the gardens. All these flowers were beautiful!😊
