Presents at Krispy Kreme

New mysteries. New day. Fresh doughnuts.

David Lynch

Hello! I woke up from quite a mysterious dream last night, and got a start on the day. My friend and I finished my mile long walk this morning, and the Krispy Kreme store was along the way! I enjoyed the decorations the employees put up for the holidays. I noticed a creme-filled doughnut called “Present” 🎁 which I avoided due the sheer calories and sugar 😜, but my friend got it instead.

There are also some fun knick-knacks for sale! Probably a good stress reliever to squish and smell!

I walked over to the corner to take a seat and enjoyed the colorful decorations on this tree.

By the checkout area, this light pink tree also had some presents underneath.

On the walk back, I noticed these large wooden decorative presents on the field.

Overall, it was an enjoyable walk!😊

It’s simple. Eat well, exercise and get lots of sleep but make sure you indulge occasionally. At my age , I think , what the hell , and eat a Krispy Kreme doughnut !

Kinda Square Photo Challenge

Featured Image by lisa runnels from Pixabay

Hi everyone! Becky Winchester over at the Life of B has hosted another square photo challenge (KindaSquare) for October. This month’s theme is related to kindness:

  • Something of the kind (mirror images, carbon copies and doubles)
  • Our imagination kindled (inspire us!)
  • Of its kind (a unique object or could be a picture of nature and wildlife)
  • Kindred spirits (kindness in action or photographs of people)
  • Take kindly to (something you like such as my Warbler on Sunday or Ellie’s cheese)

Kinda Square’ Rules:

  1. Take a square photograph of something that reflects the theme
  2. Create your post for any day in October, and pingback to one of my daily squares
  3. Include the theme’s tag – KindaSquare
  4. Leave a comment on my post as well as your link
  5. Whether you post squares or not, be a kind member of the Square team and make time to visit others and the square galleries

I took some creative liberties with my gallery frames and included all 31 shots! Enjoy! 🙂

#SoCs – What’s Beside Me Right Now? – A Lesson from a Cloud

“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.”

Rabindranath Tagore
#SoCs – Beside you

Hello there!
Today’s prompt for Stream of Consciousness from Linda G. Hill is: “…write about whatever is beside you when you read this prompt. Not when you sit down to write, but whatever is beside you right now. Take note of it if you think you might forget. Enjoy!

So, I read this prompt while jogging in a deserted field area this afternoon. Em from Earthly Brain shared a prompt as well: “ If I could learn a lesson from the clouds, it would be …“. An impromptu poem materialized in my head. Enjoy!

Puffy cotton balls reflecting brilliant light
Today I greet the day as it comes
Drifting along with the wind

It’s somewhat difficult for me
to play hide-and-go seek
as I often gleam behind nature

No matter though, Sunny and I
Our friendship is billions of years old
Together on the best and worst of days

A generous spirit today
Frolicking among you
Revealing a wondrous site

#OctPoWriMo8 – Smell of Lime Leaves

Enjoying an evening stroll with mom as the crimson sun sets
Superstitious, I intentionally step over the cracks in the sidewalks
Didn’t want to tempt fate and break my mother’s back
Lively chatter and smiles spread throughout the neighborhood

Passing a yard, we stumble upon a lime tree hanging over a fence.
Delighted, mom jumps up and plucks a leaf as the branch springs back
She tears the leaf in half, rubs it between her fingers, and hands it to me
“Smell it sweetie, and you will be amazed.”

Curiously, I stared at the seemingly normal green leaves
Stunned as I bring the leaves closer to my nose to smell
Breathing in an incredibly fragrant natural perfume
Relaxing my mind. Creating lasting pleasant and revitalizing feelings

Thirsty and sweaty upon arrival to our home
We squeeze some limes and make icy limeade beverages
Cool and refreshing to the parched tongue
Citrus inspiration to the rescue of grateful souls
