Happy Valentine’s Day!

Good evening, everyone! Today has been a cozy day of self-care. This Valentines I want to say that I appreciate you, and thank you for your support. It’s below freezing here, and the city issued a city-wide text telling us to stay inside due to the accidents on the roads.

Movies, facials, game of checkers & Uno, spaghetti, chocolate, creating my calendar for the year, a chat with mom about lunar new year, and a LONG one-on-one heart-to-heart chat with my boyfriend about relationship stuff. This Valentines was very low key and very relaxing!

I had an interesting selection of romantic movies Amazon Prime recommended to me these past few weeks. Some were cliche. Some had such beautiful scenery. It’s been fun to watch. How these algorithms recommend films based on my interests baffles me! I’ve included some other movies I’ve watched with friends and loved ones.

  1. Confessions of a Shopaholic
  2. Not Cinderella’s Type
  3. Letter to Juliet
  4. The Ultimate Gift
  5. Beauty Squared
  6. Amelie
  7. A Walk to Remember
  8. Pride and Prejudice
  9. The Fountain
  10. Your Name
  11. Crazy Rich Asians
  12. Magic in the Moonlight

  1. I miss watching movies with friends. I remember liking Letters to Juliet — but haven’t rewatched it since 2011.

Thanks for sharing… I’d probably watch Not Cinderella’s Type later ❤

    • I’ve heard some people have been doing virtual movie parties. Not sure how to go about that! 🙂

Not Cinderella’s type is a powerful coming-of-age story delivered in a semi-comedic way that dives into emotional abuse. I did not expect myself to cry at the end of this movie, but I did.

      • I did watch it right after. It’s a good movie. I love this version, she has angst and she wasn’t a doormat. -Thanks for the recommendation.

I’ve experienced a virtual movie party with the cast of That Thing You Do. It was awesome!

  2. I loved Netters to Juliet and have fond memories of watching Confessions of a Shopaholic with several friends. Crazy Rich Asians was the last movie I saw in theaters before everything shut down, and last year I watched The Ultimate Gift! You and I seem to share taste in movies. 🙂
