Today I’m a Couch Potato

Linda G Hill – Couch

A really good couch knows just how to greet you when you walk in from a long hard day out in the world. The cushions knows the shape of your body as you sink into the softness. Sometimes, I find that I’m more productive working on my laptop as I’m relaxing on the couch. I love to snuggle up with a blanket on the couch and read a book or get into the rhythm of a crochet session.

I wonder how couches come in handy during psychotherapy. Are you just relaxed enough to share things with your psychiatrist that you normally wouldn’t? Is your mind more able to explore and access your memories, feelings, and thoughts?

This past month I’ve been so active, and I would love to watch a few movies now, but I need to finish some homework. Make some trail mix and popcorn.

I’ve even cancelled my plans to go to San Japan convention this weekend. The convention draws in thousands of people every year. I sewed my own cosplay outfit based on a favorite childhood TV show, Sailor Moon. I was inspired by the quality in of the outfits in this photo:

The circle skirt pattern required a bit of mathematics, but I will fix it for next year.

…but in the meantime, I’m a couch potato working on homework – risk matrices and financial budget sheets. I’ll come back here later and share a few stories when I’m done! πŸ™‚

Hello everyone! I'm a technical writer by day, creative writer by night. I have a wild imagination yearning for more in life. I'm fascinated by many subjects that have developed into a sort of mental and physical wanderlust that ultimately leads me to experience a variety of cultural shocks. Welcome to my journey and looking forward to reading your blogs!

  1. Aha, you like cosplay, that’s a very dedicated hobby πŸ™‚ Interesting. I always love being a couch potato but can hardly be these days πŸ˜€

    1. Cosplay does take a bit of time, but the experiences I share with my mom sewing helps speed up the process! It’s interesting, though not suprising, to me that being a couch potato might be a desire for many who lead busy lives

      1. It’s amazing sewing your own costume! Hmm, the kids I know (I don’t mean you’re a kid) simply buy or get them tailor made.

    1. Favorite couches are the best! πŸ™‚ Thank you Winnie! I’ve been meaning to take pictures of my sewing and crochet projects. Hopefully soon, as I just completed a blue ascot.

    1. Good morning Rory! πŸ™‚

Thank you very much for your gift! I’m an award yes blog, though unfortunately I’ve been very behind on them. I think I’ll do a Super Sunshine post

    1. 🀣 Yes, it’s a necessity like eating broccoli when you’d rather have a cake. The time invested should save me some time, money, and headaches in the future.πŸ˜€

I do wonder about the history of couches now. How styles have developed over time…πŸ™‚
