Black & White Challenge: In Flight

Mike Hawkey Photography

Seagulls are wondrous creatures as they are flying over the ocean. I love watching them catch my crackers as I throw them up in the air as I’m standing on the pier. As I’m working on this photo challenge, I am thinking of a book one of my professors gave me a book called “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” by Richard Bach. It’s a beautiful homily about a seagull learning about how to fly and what it means to fly.

Hello everyone! I'm a technical writer by day, creative writer by night. I have a wild imagination yearning for more in life. I'm fascinated by many subjects that have developed into a sort of mental and physical wanderlust that ultimately leads me to experience a variety of cultural shocks. Welcome to my journey and looking forward to reading your blogs!

  1. I loved JLS! Read the book, saw the movie and bought the Neil Diamond soundtrack album! 🙂

A very Spiritual work also, reminding us of the requirement of overcoming suffering in order that we might ascend to something greater than before. 😉

Seagulls make excellent subjects for B/W photos, 🙂 Nice work.

    1. I had no idea there was a movie and soundtrack! Thank you for your descriptive interpretation! Makes me realize that my professor may have had a greater purpose for giving me this book. I really love the story as well. 😀
