A Creator’s Excursion

Just plain excited today! I don’t know what’s gotten into me. When it comes to one of my favorite hobbies, I become giddy like a sweet-tooth child in a candy store. I felt incredibly delighted to see these ribbons on sale for 10 CENTS EACH at the store. I got 5 1/2 yards of sheer fabric that is very similar to the color of the cover my planner this year. I love this light sheer fabric. What a coincidence that this fabric caught my attention! I found a oval loom and a device that I can use to make rugs and pom-poms. I just think I get excited by the possibilities. I’m envisioning dresses, blouses, and one-piece jumpsuits. I had this wild idea to create my own lingerie with some of this lacy ribbon I picked up. I found some patterns of Lolita dresses for costumes and a dress for work. I will be using an old prom dress and changing it into a light-weight two piece outfit.

Dream:
 Jose invited some friends to hang out at his loft. I was preparing lunches for them in the kitchen while they lounged around on the couch talking to one another. There was a Japanese wall panel dividing the room. I felt distant from everyone as I watched everyone chatting animatedly to each other.

Occasionally, I would feel distant from my friends and acquaintances. Sometimes, I would take the initiative to catch up with old friends to avoid this distant feeling. Today, I decided to call a friend I lost touch with last year. I got to chat with one of my friends who moved out to Indiana this past summer. His wife is doing a masters program in civil engineering and he is still fixing his house up to feel more like a home. He feels like a stranger in a new city, but I think his family will make new friends soon.

I did some flutter kicks for 10 minutes. My abs are feeling the burn, and I’m still incredibly sore from the jump rope exercises from two days ago. Need to take it easy, but still working hard.

I checked out a TV series from the library called “HaNaYaMaTa”. I watched the first 3 episodes and was captivated by the incredible bright breathtaking visuals that make me feel inspired. Makes me feel so good about life and happy. I can’t wait to see them perform Yosakoi, a Japanese traditional dance. Dream: I was pumping gas at the gas station in my pajamas, and I was trying to make a decision about what I was going to wear later on in the day.

One of my managers is studying me as I arrive to work. I was wearing my rainbow-colored ears headband that I got from one of the stores in the mall called “Earthbound”. I made a conscience choice to wear this today. Before, I debated wearing it to work wondering whether or not it was professional. For some reason, I was afraid of being judged. In a way I was, but in a good way. One of my other managers reassured me it was a judge-free zone. My headband can be interpreted in many ways, but a customer clearly expressed it one way when he asked me, “Are you part of the community?” For a moment, I was puzzled by his question until it suddenly registered that he meant the LGBT community. I told him I had some friends and family that I wanted to support.

I finally am getting around to the book by pen name, Robert Jordan’s novel “A Wheel of Time”. Such a rich fantasy world filled with so much detail, I have to keep rereading some chapters because there’s so many introductions to foreign concepts and people.

After work, I jumped rope for 30 minutes and followed fitness trainer Rebecca-Louise video on How To Lose Arm Fat with 8 pound weights. Here’s what her arm workout consisted of:

15 Standing V-Raise
15 Shoulder Press
15 Kickbacks
15 Tricep Extensions
20 In and Out Curls
10 (on each arm) Inside Curls
20 Reverse Flies
20 Havyk Raises
15 Dips

I jogged for another 30 minutes straight (16 laps) outside in the courtyard. After a short break, I did 3 sets of 20 sit-ups, and could only manage 20 push-ups (upper body is very weak).

I asked a question to myself, as I’m reading more nutritional labels, is “How much sugar should I take in a day?” According to the American Heart Association, the maximum amount of added sugars you should eat in a day are:

  • Men: 150 calories per day (37.5 grams or 9 teaspoons)
  • Women: 100 calories per day (25 grams or 6 teaspoons)

My jaw dropped. I need to radically change my diet. This is how I currently feel though. Well I’ll be taking steps in the next few days. We’ll see how this goes!
